12 September - back to Rangiwahia hut

| Rather misty here this time |

| We were very pleased to find that the new track to the hut is now open, which gives a great view of the historic arched bridge. The new track meant that we reached the hut in just one hour 20 minutes. |

19 September - in the Tararuas on the eastern (Wairarapa) side - Te Mara and Blue Range track.
