Back to Whitecliffs boulders

17 September - it was Owen's birthday and we took a drive to visit the Whitecliffs boulders beside the Rangitikei River near Ohingaiti.  Owen had not seen the boulders before.  We must have spent an hour and a half exploring and photographing these amazing boulders in this beautiful setting.

 12 September - back to Rangiwahia hut

Rather misty here this time

We were very pleased to find that the new track to the hut is now open, which gives a great view of the historic arched bridge.  The new track meant that we reached the hut in just one hour 20 minutes.

19 September - in the Tararuas on the eastern (Wairarapa) side - Te Mara and Blue Range track.

21 August - a large group of Wednesday trampers visited these spectacular boulders beside the Rangitikiei River
